Go down as far as you can comfortable go, then lightly hold whatever part of your legs you've reached. Hold this position for 20 seconds, then release.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Next, lying face down on the floor, use your arms to life your torso up, as if you were doing push-ups, but keep your hips firmly touching the floor, so that only your spine bends back.  Again, stop just short of feeling any pain, hold for 20 seconds, then release.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Do these two exercises in the morning and evening, then as you get used to it, increase the times in the day that you do it, up to around five or six times a day. I believe I ordered it in a mail-order catalog or some such source, and at the time I paid a handsome amount for it.  This was my first act of desperation in the desire to add a few inches to my height - sending precious cash away by post, not knowing whether it would even reach its destination or if it did, if the seller would actually send me anything useful.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I did get an envelope soon enough, and it contained a small printed pamphlet with 1 "surefire, guaranteed" method explained in about ten pages.  Actually, the method itself took just one or two pages, the rest was fluff.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here is that height gain method as I remember it: take a stack of newspapers and lay them on the floor, so that when you stand on the stack and reach up to the ceiling, your middle fingertip will just barely touch.  I suppose there was a schedule involved, probably once first thing in the morning and once before sleep.  I don't remember how long I was supposed to maintain the stretch each time.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The trick was then to remove one single page from the stack of papers every day, so that before very long, the newspapers would be gone and I would be tall enough to reach the ceiling.  There were more instructions to the stretches but I've forgotten them now.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Did it work?  I never found out.  I collected the papers and I did the stretches and filled out the weekly chart so I could follow my height increase - for about two or three weeks.  In the first week I believe I measured an extra 1/8th of an inch increase (which encouraged me greatly), but the second week's measurement either gave the same figure or went back to my original.  In any case it depressed me greatly, until I quit a few days after.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I didn't return it to get my money back (which I could do within 30 days, but who does this anyway?), and that was that.
